Collect Cash and Other Payments From Your Phone (No Bulky Till)

A till is a drawer, a calculator, and a habit. You already carry the calculator. The question is whether your phone can also hold the habit — cash in, change out, transfers logged — without a bulky register on the counter.

For market traders, pop-ups, boutiques, and food vendors, the answer is usually yes — if the app is built for cash-heavy days, not only card-reader ecosystems.

What “collect from your phone” should mean

• Ring the sale amount quickly (keypad or catalog).
• Mark how the customer paid: cash or a direct/non-cash method.
• For cash: help you count notes and show change due clearly.
• Save the sale to today’s history so closing is easy.
• Optionally share a receipt by WhatsApp or email.

Cash flow on a phone register

1. Enter the amount

3. Show change due — big and obvious

Change mistakes destroy trust on busy days. A dedicated Change Due screen with a large number is faster than mental math under pressure. Hand the change, confirm the sale, start the next customer.

Direct payments (transfers, MoMo, bank)

Configure the payment methods you actually use — for example MoMo, bank transfer, or other labels that match your market. When a customer pays that way:

1. Ring the sale as Direct (or the method you selected).
2. Confirm the money in your MoMo/bank app as you always do.
3. Keep the sale on the register so it appears in today’s direct total.

Currencies that match real shops
